Back to the 1970's

After the resort failed in the early 1970's, many people were involved in looking after the place, including long time member (teenager in this photo), Don Scott

About the Black Tusk Snowmobile Club

The Black Tusk Snowmobile Club (BTSC) was founded in 1971 in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada on the heels of a failed ski development. Soon after, The BTSC negotiated it's tenure on Brohm Ridge, North of Squamish at approximately 5300ft above sea level on the rim of an ancient volcano.

Filming at Brohm

On occasion we provide access for the movie crews to some high mountain action...

BTSC Membership

You meet the nicest people within the Black Tusk Snowmobile Club. We also boast one of the longest riding seasons in all of Canada from November to the end of June and sometimes...even longer!!

Friends lost along the way

Long time BTSC President, Barry Groundwater was taken from us June 2012 by Cancer. A memorial was created for him on 'No Name' over looking Howe Sound, one of Barry's favourite places.

We tell many people that Brohm Ridge and the Black Tusk Snowmobile Club boasts the longest sledding season of any club in British Columbia.

Here is a webcam pic of April 27/14.    This amounts to about 8' - 9' of snow at the Chalet.  As per usual, the club will host its annual 'Summer Solstice' event on Saturday June 21 and for all you 'newbies', yes there will be snow and have your sleds ready.  It is always a GREAT way to welcome your Summer season.

Snowarama

Snowarama is a family-oriented fundraising event in which snowmobilers organize hill climbs, poker runs, rallies, or scavenger hunts in support of Easter Seal programs. The B.C. Snowmobile Federation and its member clubs have endorsed Easter Seals as its charity of choice and Snowarama as their official charitable fundraising event. In BC, snowmobile clubs in more than 35 communities host Snowaramas between January and March every year.
